Between the heavy burden of treatment expenses and the difficulties of daily life, there are several problems faced by the families of kidney patients. They have to spend a large portion of their earnings on the treatments.  They even have to go to dialysis centers at least three times a week for which they often have to call a rental car.

In this situation where the debt is increasing and the peace of mind is declining, the disease is turning into a domestic crisis. The biggest thing Thanal did was to observe these problems in kidney patients from all angles.

Efforts were made to relieve them of the financial burden and travel difficulties. The Dialysis Fund was set up with the participation of the people.  Dialysis centers were started for the poor without any financial burden.  To reduce travel inconvenience, a project called Nearby Dialysis has been launched.  Dialysis center in Vadakara launched with 10 machines is today one of the largest dialysis service networks in India.  More than 1650 people are undergoing dialysis in 300 machines in 50 centers.  Many new units are being completed inside and outside Kerala.
